SDD Preamp

A few weeks ago, Stephen from Step Up Guitars (www.stepupguitars.com) emailed me to ask about a custom preamp. He wanted the preamp from the legendary Korg SDD3000 digital delay in a pedal so he wouldn't have to have the whole rack unit if he just wanted to use the preamp to goose his amp a little bit. The best known user of this trick is The Edge from U2. Many of his clean tones are based on this preamp hitting the front end of his Vox amplifiers to get his jangly clean tone. The original circuit was adapted for use as a pedal by modifying the power supply for 9V rather than the +/- 15V supply used in the original unit. Here are a few photos of the finished design:
